Information about cookies and the tools used on the Nicola Palma website.

What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored by your browser to enable website functions or remember preferences, or, where applicable, analyse behaviour and interests. Similar tools can store information in the browser without using cookies.
The current configuration
The custom theme and modules do not set profiling or advertising measurement cookies, or use localStorage to track visitors. Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and similar tools are not installed. The catalogue, packaging carousel and mobile menu work without dedicated cookies.
The contact form uses a WordPress security check (nonce) and an anti-spam field. These do not require a custom cookie for visitors who are not logged in. No external CAPTCHA service is integrated.
Language preference
Polylang manages the Italian and English versions. It may use the technical cookie pll_language to remember the language chosen by the visitor, normally for one year. This cookie does not profile visitors or support advertising. Automatic redirection based on browser language is disabled; language-specific URLs remain accessible directly.
WordPress technical cookies
Logging into WordPress administration may set technical authentication and preference cookies. These are not required for ordinary public browsing of the catalogue.
| Name or family | Purpose | Usual duration |
|---|---|---|
| wordpress_test_cookie | Checks cookie support on the login page | Session |
| wordpress_[hash], wordpress_sec_[hash], wordpress_logged_in_[hash] | Authentication of authorised users | Session or authentication expiry; usually 2 days, up to 14 days with “Remember me” |
| wp-settings-[ID], wp-settings-time-[ID] | Administration interface preferences | Usually 1 year |
Actual names contain variable identifiers. Their presence and duration depend on login activity and WordPress settings. They are not advertising or profiling cookies.
External services and hosting
Photographs, fonts, the logo and theme scripts are served by the website. Google Maps is available through an external link and is not embedded. When you open an external website, that service’s cookie information applies.
The public website is hosted on Aruba’s Hosting Easy Linux service. This policy describes the functions active on the website.
Notice and preferences
No non-essential tools requiring consent are active in the current configuration. An informational notice appears when you first open the site, with a “Got it” button and a link to this page. The button dismisses the notice and does not indicate consent to profiling or advertising.
The dismissal is stored in your browser using localStorage under the key palma-cookie-notice-v1, until you clear the site’s data or the notice version changes. Strictly necessary technical cookies do not require prior consent; information about them is still provided.
You can view, delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking technical cookies may prevent access to administration. If non-essential tools are introduced, this policy and the preference-management system must be updated before they are enabled.
